This is the 3rd book I have read of Laura Ingalls’ Little House series. I really hope that she can write more. I never get tired of reading her stories.
From Big Woods to Indian Territory then to Plum Creek. You can see the family tries to survive from the worse and they cope with positive spirits. After long day’s work there was family gathering around the fire place and there were fiddle and songs. After all those disasters–fire, flood, grasshoppers etc, there are new plans and hope for next year, merry talking and praying for what they have.
I like the dugout(sound like a house of Hobbit, right?), the adventure to pool and tableland, the plum picking season, rolling over the straw-stack(which smells good!), the little trick Laura played on nasty Nellie, the amazing fish trap, and the encounter of wild animals…Well, I think everyone hates the grasshopper and would feel sad of the damage on crops.
While you read Laura’s stories, you will feel there is always hope and delight. I think that is something I need to learn from it. Be grateful for what I have and get along with it.
Here are some fiddle and songs I collected from the book:
