Last night my eyes were hurt and my tears flowed for a while. After careful check, there was no risk of serious inner damage and likely free from infection. Tired and cold, I retired to bed early. From mid June till the very end of July, weather will be very hostile, esp in the morning and at night. I can’t sit at the desk to read because winds sneaking through the window.
Mouse appeared at night again. Last time a small mouse was killed by my husband and I didn’t expect we will have another one so soon. My husband joked that this one should be the brother of the last poor little one. We thought they come through the hole of the stove connect to the basement. It is pretty hard to stop the mice coming as there is a hole exist. My husband put a small bite of cooked pork meat on the ground and it was gone this morning. He said it must be taken by the mouse. ill humour! Anyway, since it is too hard to catch mice, we just let it run. As long as it dare not run into my bedroom! Living in the house, we have to stand the unpleasant creature in a way or another.
Have finished book of Two Below Zero and start reading a book of Australian rain forest. Very disappoint at the book At Home written by Bill Bryson. It is one of the typical popular books that talk a lot but actually tell nothing. And the structure of the writing is too loose and unrelated. It seems he tried to use fiction stories writing techniques to write a non-fiction book. If he did intend to do it, sorry Mr. Bryson, it is a totally failure.
Recently we both want to cut down our sleep hours in order to learn and read. So we sleep around 11:30pm instead of 10pm. Get up in the winter morning is such a torture though…
